Originally this 60 minutes episode aired on CBS – December 8, 1991. 60 Minutes called Branson, Missouri the “Live Music Capital of the Universe.” At that time in 1991 there were 22 independent theaters in operation. as of 2015 Branson has more than 50 theaters and 100 shows. 60 Minutes launched Branson into a new era of growth by revealing to the world the wonderful playground of fun and entertainment this small southwest Missouri town had become. Performers, visitors, developers and new residents have been flocking to Branson ever since.
