Try these out and make some great memories while you are at it!
Mountain coasters have been gaining more popularity in America, and one of the very best is found in the heart of Ozark Mountain country. The Runaway Mountain Coaster is located at the Branson Mountain Adventure Park and delivers two adventures in one for any who dare to experience it.
One or two riders (a driver and a passenger) are able to ride the coaster at the same time. The adventure begins with being pulled to the top of the 330-foot hill before gravity takes over and the real excitement begins. You choose how you will experience the 3000 feet of descending, spiraling, and curving track down the mountain. Slow down or speed up, it is completely up to you!
Is there a better place to be in the summer than on a boat? How about a large boat with entertainment and excitement guaranteed? Check out the special summer cruises on the Showboat Branson Belle throughout July.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings join a “crew of scallywags” for a Princess & Pirate Cruise. Take part in a dance party and pancake breakfast before witnessing a fairytale come to life in the Showboat’s newest show. On Sunday nights get a stunning fireworks display over Table Rock Lake, as well as the evening cruise on July 4. Dinner and the Showboat’s signature variety show is also part of Fireworks Finale Nights.
If you prefer to be in the water instead of floating on top of it, then Branson is the ultimate choice in lake adventure. With three area lakes (Table Rock, Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals) there are plenty of aquatic activities for everyone.

Andy B’s Entertainment & Bowling Centers offer more than just the opportunity to hit the lanes, they offer a true experience.
The corporation has three entertainment centers located throughout the Midwest. Locations include Springfield, MO – Barlett, TN – and Tulsa, OK. Two more locations are scheduled to open in 2018, one in Denton, TX and another right here in Branson, MO.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Branson location was recently held at the, in progress, facility that will reside at the famous Branson Landing. The Landing features a scenic boardwalk that stretches 1.5 miles along Lake Taneycomo, highlighted by the iconic Branson Landing Fountains and home to more than 100 shops and restaurants. Andy B’s and the Landing are a perfect match!
“Andy B’s bring undeniable eats, friendly competition, and boutique bowling to the Branson Landing. The new entertainment destination will host a full-service restaurant and bar serving up modern-American eats, craft cocktails, and regional brews alongside a mix of social games and attractions ideal for any age.”
The entertainment complex is going all out with their Branson location. While dining and games are a staple for their locations, Branson will feature some unique extras.
“Among the mix are private karaoke rooms, virtual reality lounges, express escape rooms, classic table games, and much more. The Branson location will also feature an indoor/outdoor bar, sports viewing area, social patio, and stage for weekly live music or special events. The facility will introduce fun for all ages to enjoy, serving as the hot-spot for family dining and entertainment, group and corporate events, and nightlife. Special accommodations, packages and event menus will also be available for groups of ten or more.”
The Andy B’s Branson Entertainment Center is expected to open in the fall of 2018.

There is a new amusement attraction in Branson and it is located right on the Strip.
America’s Fun Park is now open in the former Branson Heights Shopping Center location on Highway 76. The shopping center was devastated by a tornado and was vacant for nearly six years. Now it is a nine-acre throwback to classic state fairs.
The amusement park is filled with rides, games, food, and is an affordable family attraction.
We were able to meet with Park Manager Jason Reynolds on the morning of their grand opening.
“We believe that Branson is a value-driven market and that our price point, $20 for a half-day, fits that. Guests can also purchase an all-day band and come and go throughout the day as much as they want. What we really want to hang our hat on is the quality of our service.”
Each time you visit America’s Fun Park you are sure to have a different experience. That is due to the theme changing throughout the year. As the seasons change so will the park. In the fall there will be a haunted house theme and Christmas theme in the winter. One thing that will stay constant is the carnival atmosphere.
Getting into the park is FREE! You do need to purchase wristbands in order to enjoy the many rides available.
America’s Fun Park is planning on providing 120 seasonal jobs while keeping about 20 total full-time staff. “It really is about the people that work here. We can always upgrade the rides, so the rides are going to be fine. It is going to be the people that make guests want to come back and be a shining example in the community” said Reynolds.
If you are looking for something new and exciting this year in Branson, look no further than America’s Fun Park on the Strip! As Reynolds stated, “We are Branson’s first and last stop for fun!”

Choose Branson recently spoke with Andrea Brett, of the Brett’s Family Christmas Show. We discussed her new book ‘I Am A Veteran’.
The book began as a poem that Brett wrote around 2003. The intent was for it to be a part of their show to honor veterans. “I actually wrote it to be a part of the show. When we first came to Branson all the shows were doing patriotic tributes. There were only so many patriotic songs and we wanted our tribute to be unique to us. The poem became something, along with original song arrangements, we have used throughout the years.”
The 88-page publication brings Brett’s poem to life with 45 hand-drawn illustrations. Eight artists and two illustrators combined to create the stunning visuals. However, the book and poem may have never happened if Brett was not inspired by another poem she heard on the radio.
“When we moved to Branson from Dallas we began looking for material for our show that wasn’t used in other shows. I remembered hearing a poem on the radio back in Dallas that was moving to me. I thought it might be something we could use. I called the station to find out how I could get it, who wrote it, that kind of thing. They had no recollection of it at all. I tried tracking it down and could never find it and I got disappointed because I thought it was great. Then one-day inspiration came that said, you can write your own.”
“The thoughts started coming to me. Inspiration came from the veterans we were meeting each day at our show. At intermission and after the show they would tell us stories of their experiences. They were average looking people wearing jeans and t-shirts. Telling stories that were anything but average.”
“The poem is an amalgamation of those stories. Each line represents a story I heard.”
Writing a poem was the first step. Brett knew right away that she wanted it to become a book. Creating a book is a process. One that the Brett’s faced head-on.
“I realized I wanted to make it into a book. It was something that was nagging at me for years. When I would be on the stage reciting it I would think, ‘I’ve got to get this into a book.’ It was something I knew I needed to do.”
“With our schedule, this year, not doing shows in the Spring and Summer, I had a window of time to focus on it. I took that opportunity and knew that it was now or never.”
“The first plan was to get it done. I never looked beyond that to what I was going to do with it. I wanted to follow that inspiration to get it finished and let things happen from there.”
“During the process, we worked with artists who hand-drew in black & white, either with pencil or with charcoal, pictures that went along with the poem. The color in the book was applied digitally. There were two artists, one who also did some of the drawings, who took the black & white pictures and did the coloring. They turned out fantastic.”
“We self-published the book, which was interesting. It is not a cheap endeavor, especially with a hard-cover. It was about the quality that we wanted to make it though. We worked with a printer in New Hampshire who was great – along with all the artists and designers who were fantastic. It turned out to be a beautiful project.”
“We received the finished book in October and began selling them at our show. Since then we have started a website, IAmaVeteran.net, where the book can be purchased as well.”
“The hope for the website is for it to become a forum. There is a part of the site called The Project. One thing I want it to do is to be able to collect military artwork. I learned there are a lot of military veterans who like to express themselves through their artwork. I want the website to be a place that can display their art. Another thing I want the site to do is to be able to collect the stories of veterans. Not only stories of their service, but also what they are doing now. As we speak to veterans that come to our show, many of them are engaged in forwarding the cause of veterans in their communities. They are doing awesome things, we want to showcase that.”
The next step is to find out what the next step is for the book. Once you have it published the life of a writing is not complete. Much like a person, a book continues to find new life and ways to impact people.
“I would love to see the book in as many homes and libraries as possible. It would be great to see it in schools as well as public libraries. We are in the initial stages of that. We are hoping that doors will open and that we will know when to walk through.”
“My biggest goal is to get veterans telling their stories. So many are leaving this world with their stories still in them. They need to be told so the rest of us have a greater appreciation for their sacrifices. They are real people – with real families – and real stories. They come home and they get real jobs and are expected to take those experiences and live life. Carrying those experiences around inside. It is helpful to have a safe place where they can talk about it.”
“They are normal people who do extraordinary things.”
